Tried the update. Got Trovia again & other stuff. Tried fixing, had to uninstall and it wound up losing the update. What's up with all this stuff?

If I can't just get the update without getting changes to my home page and other programs I DON'T want, why do the update? I had this same problem last time I did a Mozilla update. It's time wasting and extremely annoying. This time, I couldn't get rid of some of the stuff without uninstalling and when I did, the Mozilla update went away too.

You must have been victimized by a fake update. Firefox updates don't contain stuff like that.

To have Firefox retrieve the official update, you can use:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > About Firefox
  • (menu bar) Help > About Firefox

And by downloading Firefox from mozilla.org

Firefox does not come with any extra stuff.
