Firefox will not work at all when I click the icon. I tried to reinstall and didn't work. There are no error messages.

You could try starting Firefox in Safe Mode. This is a diagnostic mode you can use to test whether Firefox runs normally when your add-ons are temporarily disabled. You also can use it to make permanent changes.

For more information about Firefox's Safe Mode (not to be confused with Windows' Safe Mode), see: Safe Mode. Be careful not to "reset" anything permanently if you haven't backed up. To back up Firefox, see Backing up your information.

Any luck?
