I can only forward emails as attachments, not in normal email format
Last week I sent a Word attachment with an email and thereafter all the emails I forward appear as attachments. I want to forward emails in the regular email format, so I can see the content I send, and so the recipient doesn't have to open an attachment. I use Windows 7 on a desktop. Thanks in advance!

From the menu bar Select Tools-Options-Composition-General
Is the first option set to Inline or Attachment? Inline is what you want.
No menu bar with Tools? Press the alt key.

Just to clarify: are you using a webmail site in Firefox (for example, Outlook, Gmail, Yahoo) or a separate email program such as Thunderbird?
I have one email account: gmail. Everything worked fine before a couple of weeks ago, when I sent a client an edited 7 p Word (I think it was) doc as an attachment. I might have accidentally changed settings, but I don't think so. After fiddling around in Mozilla, I WAS able to forward things in the normal email format, but I had to send another attachment, and Firefox reverted to sending EVERY forward as an attachment. I tried but couldn't repeat the fix.
Are you using any special method to forward the message? I'm only aware of the menu to the upper right of the message (see attached screen shot), and I couldn't find any way to forward the message as an attachment using Firefox on the Gmail website.

These are the options I'm given in in a lateral line the upper right corner. But I'm not using Google to send/receive emails. Just have their email address. Thanks for the screen shot. Mine, of course, looks different. It is the Thunderbird Mail screen with the blue and white icon of an envelope being embraced by a blue bird. Sorry, I don't know how to send a screen shot. I don't know much in computer language, altho I've been using one since 1991! Thank you so much for helping - After a failed effort to fix things, I feel like a truck has run over my head!
Put simply - I use Thunderbird Mail for email, not Google.

If you use the Attach option it will be an attachment. If you use Insert it becomes part of the message body.
I don't use the attach option. If I want to forward an email in my inbox, I highlight the subject line and click "forward" or, if it's open, I just click "forward". In either case, a new, empty email appears with the one I want to forward contained in an attachment in the upper right hand corner. I have to write to intended recipient: "see attachment." because I'm afraid recipient will see a blank body of email and miss the attachment. It should be noted that I have been forwarding with no problem for ages. This problem just developed a couple weeks ago.
