I just added another e-mail account but in order to receive my e-mails I have to click on my e-mail address at the top in bold, in the left side bar in thunderbird, and then click on the "read messages" button then I can receive e-mails in my inbox. This is with my default email account and my new account I set up about an hour ago. Thanks,

You possibly have the default view settings.

Turning on the "Folder pane" may help you navigate better. I got accustomed to the "Outlook style" look at some point.

To do this: Select "VIEW > Layout > Folder pane" from the menu bar. If you font have the menu bar always visible, you can activate it by pressing "Alt+v" from the keyboard then select "Layout > Folder pane"

I like the the Classic view + having the message pane (F8 is the shortcut for this one).

Hope this helps.
