Cannot now use address book group name
I am using Thunderbird in Windows 7. I used to be able to include a group name in an email address list and thunderbird put the whole group in the address list before sending it. This does not now work. Thunderbird just sends to the group name and of course the email server responds with an error. I have recently updated Thunderbird to the new version 45.1.0. I note from the notes that the Bug "Drag & Drop a contact name from Thunderbird address book (list view) to address box in a new message “compose” window failed." has been fixed and wondered if this was a side effect. I can work around the problem by selecting the whole address list from the group and dropping it into the email but this is not as convienient or obvious so I thought that I would let you know. Doug

Try rebuilding your Mailing List. You should be able to drag-and-drop the member Contacts from the old one to a new one.

Thanks for the suggestion Zenos. I did not get around to trying it as the problem has now gone away! I do not know why. I did try all the obvious things like logging out and rebooting my machine and waiting for a day or two before posting my message on the forum.
