I can't move an email to a local folder without it disappearing from my gmail server!

How can I move or delete an email in Thunderbird but keep a copy on the server? You used to have the option to do this in the past, now you don't. I want to be able to organize my email on my local machine, but still be able to access all mail in my gmail account from other devices. Thanks for any help!

What you describe is how IMAP mail works. You are viewing messages remotely on the server. If you delete the message from any device or at the server, it is gone. Moving a message to the Thunderbird Local Folders account is viewed as removing it from the server. You probably want to learn the difference between POP and IMAP.
