Getting error from Hotmail.com Account:-

Login to server imap-mail.outlook.com with username geoff_r_wilson@hotmail.com failed.

Have pasted same new password into recreated account in Thunderbird as input to Firefox(works fine) but even after deleting the Hotmail email account and restarting the computer I still get the same error even allowing Thunderbird to auto create the account?

Why delete the account. That just makes a god awful mess and usually leads to further support requirement trying to recover the mail that was deleted in the process.

Usually password problems after an update reflect problems with the internet security suite firewall or anti virus product.
