E-Mail-Benachrichtigung
Seit dem letzten Thunderbird-Update verschwindet der Button für die E-Mail-Benachrichtigung schon nach sehr kurzer Zeit aus der Fußleiste, sodass man, wenn man mal nicht am PC sitzt, nicht sehen kann, ob zwischenzeitlich E-Mails gekommen sind. Warum bleibt der Button nicht konstant wie früher, bis man die E-Mails als gelesen markiert?

Since the last Thunderbird update, the button for email notification has disappeared from the footer after a very short time, so that if you are not at the PC, you cannot see whether emails have arrived in the meantime. Why doesn't the button remain constant as before until you mark the emails as read?
The icon in the notification area can be made to persist by setting the icon for TB to 'Show icon and notifications' in Control Panel:
