I have updated the touchpad drivers, uninstalled the drivers and replaced the driver(for the touchpad); I have reset the touchpad buttons and still - when using firefox 4, my touchpad stops working. It works fine in Chrome and IE9; I like using Firefox, but the touchpad will work then stops, I have to reboot the machine, but after a few moments it stops.

I had not realized the correlation to FireFox until I came across this, but I have since confirmed that the item that stops the touchpad dead in its tracks is launching and using FireFox. Within ten seconds of launching FireFox, the touchpad becomes unresponsive in all Windows programs, not recovering until the machine has been restarted. I am now using my touchpad in Chrome with no problem, but I would rather be nestled comfortably in the familiar environs of FireFox! :-)
