I love FX! It stopped working on my computer! Please help!
I used FireFox for years on my computer... It's the best by far!
When I click on the FireFox Icon a message comes up that says, 'Your FireFox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible.'
I tried going to your Website and downloading FireFox but another message comes up (from my Vipre anti-virus program) that says it can not open a file because it has deemed it harmful to my computer (or something like that.. I'm paraphrasing for this one)
Please help if you can.... I miss my Fire Fox. It's the best browser on the planet!

Any downloads from Mozilla.org are safe.

Download Firefox Full Installer For All languages And Systemsv40 {web link}
Sorry, FredMcD:
I can't get it to work.
Is there anyone at Mozilla who can help me over the phone to get my Fire Fox to work? I really miss my Fire Fox.
Thanks anyway.
Any phone support is a SCAM ! !
Hi,
The people who answer questions here, for the most part, are other Firefox users volunteering their time (like me), not Mozilla employees or Firefox developers.
If you want to leave feedback for Firefox developers, you can go to the Firefox Help menu and select Submit Feedback... or use this link. Your feedback gets collected at http://input.mozilla.org/, where a team of people read it and gather data about the most common issues.
Did you check the links I posted? Did you download the full install, or try to upgrade?
Describe what you did and what happen.
Relieved as private message;
I am not computer savvy nor do I trust using the phone to have a technician to help me since I now know these technicians are not working for Mozilla, as your correspondence makes clear that phone support for Fire Fox is also a scam.
I have tried to delete all programs associated with Fire Fox and then re-load the most current FX going to their Website to do it. Even after all of this, the original problem still prevails: A window pop-up saying, "Your Fire Fox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing of inaccessible."
I'm hesitant to try anything else because, quite frankly, I feel like I might mess up the only search engine I have left. Nevertheless, I thank you for taking the time to help me, however, I believe, in my case, it would require a tech savvy person to give me instructions directly to fix this problem.
Firefox comes in two or more folders on all computers. They are;
Maintenance: (Programs Folder) <Windows Only> Firefox itself: (Programs Folder) And one folder in the profile of each user on the computer.
If you remove the Firefox folder, the user folders would not be effected.
Download Firefox Full Version For All languages And Systems {web link} Save the file. Then;
Using your file browser, open the Programs Folder on your computer.
Windows: C:\Program Files C:\Program Files (x86) Mac: Open the "Applications" folder. Linux: Check your user manual.
Look for, and rename any Mozilla or Firefox folders by adding .old to them.
After rebooting the computer, run a registry scanner. Then run the installer. If all goes well, remove the OLD folders when you are done.

Firefox on Windows uses the Registry very little.
Also users reading this, do not just delete any Mozilla related folders without checking as your Settings are in a separate Profile folder and not the Program folder as you may delete your Bookmarks, passwords and other settings by mistake that you may want to keep due to following that advice.

Hey FredMcD,
I tried all of it with no results... still doing the same thing. It's probably me since I am not very computer savvy. I did, however, put in a message to the developers at Mozilla. Maybe they can offer a suggestion that I can attempt that might help. It looks like I may need to get a computer tech to stop by and do the repair.
Thanks for your help and James too!
