I did not set up a password to view my passwords now I can't get out my passwords. I'm the only one who has access to the computer so there is no need for this "added security", more added annoyance. I've never had to have a password before to look up a password on one of my accounts but now I'm stuck with this function turned on. I think they must have forced it on me in a resent update because I just looked at my passwords last week. Yes, I know there is a thing to reset my passwords in Thunderbird and hopefully let me turn this silly requirement off. But I've tried that and it did nothing at all.

You're being asked to enter your Windows user account password, which is separate from the TB primary password. The prompt can be disabled in Settings/Privacy Security, Passwords, 'Require device...', but you'll have to enter the Windows password to change the setting.

That worked. Thank you. I didn't have a password. Put somehow I remembered the PIN
